Bend Office
Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Oregon State University. She has extensive experience supporting children, teens, and adults through trauma, grief, and major life transitions. Emily is passionate about helping clients access their inner strengths and believes in each person's capacity for meaningful, positive change.
Emily is extensively trained and certified in **Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)**, a research-backed approach for treating trauma and other distressing life experiences. She integrates EMDR into her trauma-informed practice to help clients process and heal from painful memories and overwhelming emotions. In addition to EMDR, Emily incorporates play therapy, movement-based techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to support clients in developing effective coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
Emily works collaboratively with her clients, creating a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship where healing and growth can flourish. When working with families, she draws on an **attachment-based family therapy** approach, emphasizing the importance of secure, connected relationships within the family system.
Her goal is to help clients build resilience, address the root causes of their struggles, and create lasting, positive change in their lives.
